"Lebanon", the feature film by Samuel Moaz
(dist. MK2) has been awarded the Golden Lion at the 66th Venice film
Festival. The film has been invited to festivals in Toronto,
Vancouver... and many others. It will be distributed in the United
States by Sony Classics. Original music by Nicolas Becker and
Benoît Delbecq. Sound designer: Alex Claude. The film was
released in France on the 3rd of february 2010.
Le chant des particules,
a film by Benoît Bourreau produced by Philippe Avril/Les films de
l'étranger, script and voices by Olivier Cadiot, music by
Manasonics (Argüelles-Becker-Delbecq) was mixed by Jean-Paul
Hurier, soundtrack by Nicolas Becker edited by Loïc Priand. A
co-production Les Films de l'Etranger - Unlimited / Arcadi. Music

Day for Night,
a performance by Manasonics (Argüelles-Becker-Delbecq) and
Marcelline Delbecq was created at the Chelles theater (77) on the 3rd
of april 2010 on the occasion of the Residence de
Stratégies Obliques (D' de Kabal, Franco Mannara, B. Delbecq).

Steve Argüelles has
recently produced Billows, a record by Carol Robinson, thirteenth
reference of his Plush label. He is presently finalizing a recording of
french composer Frédéric Pattard, also for Plush. He
continues to tour with french icon Christophe and has started a
collaboration with Micky Green under Renaud Letang's artistic direction.
During
their North-American winter tour, Benoît Delbecq and fellow
pianist pianist Andy Milne taught last february at the California Institute for the Arts,
at the Humber College of Toronto as well as in the New York
University. They also gave a performance at the Yamaha Salon in
NY where Avant Grand, the brand new digital piano was
on show-- quite amazing, but very pricy.
Circles and Calligrams,
the new piano solo disc by Benoît Delbecq, was mixed by Etienne
Bultingaire last September at PlushSpace. It will be available at
Songlines in september 2010 along with The sixth jump
of the Benoît Delbecq 3 (also recorded and mixed by Etienne
Bultingaire) with JJ Avenel playing double bass and Emile Biayenda
on drums. Etienne Bultingaire has also mixed at PlushSpace: The
Silencers (Kim Myhr, Delbecq, Nils Ostendorf, Toma Gouband - recorded
by Amandine Pras at la Muse en Circuit - Alfortville) and the Ö
trio of Toma Gouband (with Nelson Veras and Benoît Delbecq,
recording E. Bultingaire).
Nicolas Becker has
finished working on Roman Polanski's last film and is presently
preparing several collaborations with the artist Philippe Parreno,
including one for the MOMA in New-York, and another for the Serpentine
Gallery in London.The trio Manasonics (Argüelles, Becker, Delbecq)
recorded at MidiLive and PlushSpace for the pilot project of a film by
Philippe Parreno with the engineer Bruce Keen. The canadian viola de
gambe player Pierre-Yves Martel as well as guitarist Noël
Akchoté also joined in.
Pianists
Andy Milne and Benoît Delbecq gave a lecture on the recording and
mixing of their multichannel CD/SACD record Where is Pannonica?
(Songlines, 2009) at the CIRMMT of Montréal (accoustic musical division at Mc Gill University).
Nicolas Becker is preparing a microphone stand inflated with helium.
