The latest opus from Benoît Delbecq alone at the piano. Igor Juget captured 2 days of intense sessions and transformed them into a 54 minute film which will be online for the release date.

Recorded a few days before the never ending French lockdown and mixed at Bureau de Son, the album is released on Pyroclastic Records, the label directed by the New York Canadian colleague, pianist and composer, Kris Davies who has created a platform of the most remarkable aesthetics for recorded music on the international scene.
​
11 years after the highly prized solo album « Circles and Calligrams » (Songlines), the new album « The Weight of Light » is available as download and physical sales on bandcamp.

For nearly a year this pandemic prevents us from performing live. Our thoughts go out to those who are victims of this appalling crisis.

Bureau de Son continues to produce and prepare numerous projects for launch in a future that remains creative. This complex period working as a time for reflection, writing, fine tuning compositions, record productions, music for film and documentaries, and preparing multi-disciplinary performances and installations that we will be participating in.

Steve Argüelles has made available on bandcamp over 400 drum samples and loops for lockdown musicians to use for rehearsing, writing and producing new music «Beat & Break Shop» volume 2 ,a new addition and updates to volume 1 which was originally released in 2000.

Omar Sosa’s new album An East African Journey produced by Steve Argüelles was completed in lockdown with several videos recorded at Bureau de Son.
​
More recordings are in the final stages of production for dStream and future release including Four Hands, Pianoctail, Little River a Steve Argüelles solo album.
​
Julie Martigny and Benoît Delbecq in the company of actor Samuel Thiennot elaborated a new version of «Je suis un crabe ponctuel» at the Arthur Honneger Conservatoire in Le Havre, an ad-hoc reading of texts by Jacques Roubaud.
Benoît Delbecq composed an original film score for the documentary film Les Identités de Mona Ozouf by Catherine Bernstein. He co-produced and mixed the album «Songs From Home» for the legendary pianist Fred Hersch (Palmetto Records) recorded at home alone, a followi on from his series of live facebook broadcasts during sveral weeks last spring. A new website for Bureau de Son will be ready and live for when the music goes live.

Second release for the Benoît Delbecq Quartet with Mark Turner, John Hébert and Gerald Cleaver, three years after Spots On Stripes ( on the Cleanfeed label).
Recorded at studio MidiLive near Paris after a series of concerts in Europe in 2019. Released on 25th June on Jazz d’Or Series, the record label presented by Philippe Ochem, director of the Jazz d’Or festivals in Berlin and Strasbourg.
D'ICI ET LA //
/ UNE EXPERIENCE
A Radio France podcast series Une Experience, with an episode centered on correspondance between the writer/artist Marcelline Delbecq and the Scottish poet/essayist Kathleen Jamie. Directed by Diphy Mariani with original music by Benoît Delbecq.
A mix of two streams of conscience that alternately cross, join and separate. "D’ici et là" convokes divergent realities , several haïkus, thoughts, ephemeral landscapes. The authors voices mix with that of the writer Ryoko Sekiguchi and the translator Corinna Gepner as well as radio archives from l’INA.
The first broadcast was on Radio France Culture 20th June 2021 at 10pm.

AN EAST AFRICAN JOURNEY //

Omar Sosa is always passionate for the exploration of different African music and culture and their links to his own afro-cuban roots.
A new album `An East African Journey’ revisits his 2009 recordings from Madagascar, Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Burundi, Zambia and Mauritius, completed with new sessions from 2019 with the album producer Steve Argüelles on drums and Christophe `Disco’ Minck on double bass, moog and harp.
To celebrate the album release Omar plays in trio with the african singers present in video form at the Bal Blomet, the mythique Paris club in the 15th arrondissement.
